‘Paintings celebrating the awe and wonder of the English landscape.’

Slide Show Image 1: Swallow | Image 2: Herron, Mixed Media on Canvas, 81 cm x 81 cm

Created in a spirit of quiet introspection, the paint is poured and layered on to the canvas to build up a series of translucent glazes. This results in a harmonious sense of place where time is stilled and a search for light is shared with the viewer.

2016 Exhibition:

Plume, Cyanotype on watercolour paper, 35cm x 104cm

These artworks were part of an exhibition of recent works for our 2016 temporary exhibitions programme, which also included cyanotype prints. The cyanotype prints begin in the allotments and edgelands of the city where things are often left alone or forgotten. Simple specimens are literally caught in the sunlight where their innate character develops into an object of individual beauty.

About the Artist

Gabrielle Radiguet studied Fine Art at Camberwell School of Art and Sheffield Hallam University, graduating in 1990. After living and working as an artist in Jersey for 19 years, a return to the UK in 2012 prompted a fresh body of work culminating in a solo exhibition at The Crypt Gallery in central London. Her work has been shown extensively in a variety of venues and her paintings are held in private and public collections nationally and internationally.

Throughout her career, Gabrielle has worked in a therapeutic context with adults and children alike and has previously facilitated a series of Art on Prescription workshops for Arts for Health MK.
