Lockdown, is a difficult time for all of us, affecting our mental and physical health; isolating away from family and friends can manifest in feelings of depression and anxiety. For Sharda, like many of us during this time, painting and being creative provides a welcome distraction, a positive focus that helps our mental wellbeing. The artist has been experimenting with painting techniques over the past few months including using different pallet knives and brushes to apply textured paint to canvas.

The artist has painted the forest in both springtime and autumnal colours (above) she says ‘ the nature and trees change according to season, like our life, spring, summer, autumn winter, it was helping relax my mind.’ [Sharda Patel]
