‘I have spent a lot of time in my garden during lockdown and it has been a nice sanctuary for me, away from all the stresses of what’s been going on in the outside world.’ [Steve Musk]
Garden Chairs (2020) ink on paper 15cm x 21cm (A5)
Our gardens and outdoor space have become a sanctuary for so many of us during lockdown. Marvelling at the colours, shapes and sounds they inhabit. This still life project, looking at the intricacies of the artists’ garden chairs, seems a metaphor for so many. Or garden chairs, have ‘seen’ so much in recent times a symbol that offers a renewed poignancy and seeds of light.

‘Being in lockdown sometimes forces you to look at familiar objects in a different way’. This artwork is from a group a project created with the Headway Milton Keynes online art group, using a view finder to identify interesting shapes, colours or patterns around the house.’
