Garden Chairs (2020) ink on paper 15cm x 21cm (A5)
Our gardens and outdoor space have become a sanctuary for so many of us during lockdown. Marvelling at the colours, shapes and sounds they inhabit. This still life project, looking at the intricacies of the artists’ garden chairs, seems a metaphor for so many. Or garden chairs, have ‘seen’ so much in recent times a symbol that offers a renewed poignancy and seeds of light.

‘Being in lockdown sometimes forces you to look at familiar objects in a different way’. This artwork is from a group a project created with the Headway Milton Keynes online art group, using a view finder to identify interesting shapes, colours or patterns around the house.’
About the Artist
Steve Musk is an artist living in Milton Keynes and is a member of the Headway Milton Keynes art group. The group usually meet for weekly art sessions at the Headway offices, with support from local inclusive artist Sophie Bennett. During lockdown the group have instead been meeting through an online community, creating artwork together, responding to set themes and projects, sharing their creations and providing valuable interaction and support for one another.
Headway is a national charity supporting adults with acquired brain injuries and their families.
