Arts for Health Milton Keynes (AfHMK) is pleased to invite applications for the role of Art Handling Technician to support the delivery of The National Lottery Heritage Fund–supported New City Collection Project at Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH).
This is a freelance / fixed-term opportunity (up to 20 days per year for two years, 2026–2027) for an experienced and reliable technician to contribute to the care, movement, installation, and display of MKUH’s 400-piece art collection across wards, corridors, and public spaces.
Working closely with AfHMK staff, conservators, artists, and hospital teams, the successful candidate will play a practical and essential role in ensuring artworks are handled and displayed to professional standards within a complex healthcare environment.
The role will suit someone with proven experience in gallery or collections-based art handling, strong practical installation skills, and the ability to work sensitively and safely in patient-facing spaces.
A professional, calm approach and clear communication with clinical and non-clinical staff are essential.
