Paper Cut-Out Collage

“Week 2 of Art Bubble delved into the art of collage, taking two distinctly different approaches, paper cut-outs and photomontage (which you can find on the next page). Key words from the previous weeks’ conversations formed the starting points for our artworks:

︎ Participants set about making collages by hand cutting the paper with scissors, the colour pallette was deliberately limited to bold flat planes of colour as opposed to pattered surfaces.

The restricted materials and time frame gave permission to make naïve shapes, uncover elements of narrative and create balance and imbalance true to our thoughts through simple placement of objects or colour.”
